Hathaway Standard Set top box recommendation

Hi All,

I have a SD Tv (CTR) that is not having USB port.

I have to take a mew cable connection. Hathaway is the only provider in my area. I see that they have Cisco, Skyworth, Humax ND 1200C.

My requirement is that it should at-least have USB port so that I can connect other media devices to my SD tv. And, I do not want to buy HD set top box because it is a overkill for CTR TVs i believe. I know that I can use a media receiver to make my tv smart. But, I will not be able to afford a set top box and a media receiver.

So,

Are there any other ways of making my old TV smarter - at least smart to plug in a thumb drive?

Which is the best/VFM Hathaway SD set top box?

The guy is asking 1500 Ru (has not specified which manufacturer yet).

I don't think SD STBs have USB ports. Even if they have, they are useless at least for the time being. If you connect USB to them nothing happens.

So, you need another device to connect USB drive and watch USB drive contents on TV
