I think 770 would be much better than 5370 for the 242 difference to be justified. Just that no reviews are available as of now but it is also available at 595 USD in audio general.

5370 is 2x but 770 is 6x wheel @ 2500 lumens, 13000 contrast ratio, Short throw etc etc

I picked it from your last comment but acer is 2x for sure. With 2x wheel you also get to see RBE in large numbers :sad:

the 3d is just about okay using bluray as it really dims the lumens. 2d to 3d might not have the depth to give you real 3d experience. 5370 has 96hz scanning where as 770 is 144 hz which means latter is lot smoother too.
3d for me is a novelty not a necessity.

Hahaha, its not the case that I am bent on 770. But support and latest tech and better performance is also a bigger area of decision making than just first up investment.
There is also no point in investing some amount and then not liking it. So 1070 is not ruled out as yet by that logic. The recent drop for 5370 has just complicated the things a bit I must say.

Yes I have read this and more. What I have concluded is that Acer are most VFM, jack of all and master of none.
As I mentioned in one of my post, they are the Tata Motors of projectors. Promise of delivering more bang for the buck but you don't enjoy in totality and then it wears you down.
