Hi all!

I am new to writing in this forum, although I have been following it for a long time. I have a Dell Studio 14, which has a 1GB ATI Radeon 5450 Video Card. There is an HDMI port as well. I have not used the port as yet.

My question is, id this HDMI ver 1.3 or not. One of y seniors has a Studio 15 with HDMI, and we used to play songs and SD video flawlwssly from the notebook. However, when it came to 1080p video alongwith 5.1 DD/DTS, the played (PowerDVD) hug always. That made me conclude it is not HDMI v1.3.

Any of you have any clues?

Cheers

your laptop will do 1080p/24 flawlessly and will also bitstream all hd sound formats to an AVR. Install latest version of Core AVC codec and use Media Player Homecinema to playback the video files. It will be a cakewalk for the 5450.

^^ Thanks. But will the Homecinema Player just pass the DD/DTS/DDTrueHD/DTS-HD MA to the AVR or process it itself? I want the AVR to do the sound processing.

Thanks in advance.
