HDMI output in Marantz DV4001

Hi Friends,
Would appreciate if any of you can help me with the HDMI output of DV4001.Am unable to activate the HDMI out. As per the user manual, when the HDMI key is pressed for 3 seconds the HDMI LED should light up which is not happening.

HI Dinesh!!

I too have a DV4001. I too faced a similar problem.

Set all settings to Default in the menu. Default setting for HDMI is "ON"
Now connect the HDMI to compatible receiver or Display.

Note: HDMI light will NOT glow unless connected to a compatible HDMI slot.
Also, if the compatible HDMI slot is set to "off" , then too the HDMI light will not glow in the 4001.
Try it and let me know. Also, tell me your setup. Maybe I can suggest you better.

The set up as below:
1. Marantz DV4001 DVD Player
2. Hitachi 50" Plsama

One more point which might be of use is that under the setup menu the HDMI option is not active I mean it is shaded and not selectable.

Dinesh!

First check the TV and find out if the HDMI is enabled. Now, connect the dvd player vide HDMI. Go to the settings page and set all the settings to "default".

HDMI connector should now be "lit" automatically on the DVD player.
