All,

After the Due Diligence, I have realised that I would be needing a 42 (ideal) or a 46 inch TV and not the 50" I was planning for. This give me more breather space, as I can look for more features in my budget.

Here are the factors which I need to consider before making the decision:

* TV for living room
* There is a considerable amount of light in the room (which of course can be moderated by a drape or something)
* Viewing distance of about 8-14 feet
* USB movie input would be ideal
* Full HD tv us what I am looking for
* Will play XBox games on it (HDMI side input will be best)
* Will watch F1, Tennis, movies and news mostly

What would you all suggest for the above?

I checked the 42" Panasonic G10 (final price - 71K) and X10 (64K)
Also am looking at the LG and Sammy's (42LH70, 40B650/46B650)

My budget is about 60-65K. And I have about 2 more weeks to make my decision.

What would you suggest? I am thouroughly thoroughly confused now.

All inputs are welcome.

Thanks in advance...
Praveen.

Please use the search option, as there are plenty of threads running on this same topic.

* TV for living room - There is a considerable amount of light in the room (which of course can be moderated by a drape or something)

- For living room which is having lot of light will recommend to go for LCD

* Viewing distance of about 8-14 feet
- Viewing distance of over 8 feet u can go for 42" LCD
For more that 10 feet of viewing distance u should go for 46" or higher
As watching a small size full hd set on a higher viewing distance would be
similar to watching a hd ready set at the same distance.

* USB movie input would be ideal
- Only LG & samsung models are coming with usb input, lg comes with Bluetooth also
* Full HD tv us what I am looking for
* Will play XBox games on it (HDMI side input will be best)
- Usually all the tvs have 2 to 3 ports at back and one in front side
Plaxing xbox, go for lcd only plasma is ruled out
* Will watch F1, Tennis, movies and news mostly
