Hi

Please help me out.

Between the integrated amps Yamaha AX397 or Denon PMA 510AE, which one should I go for ? I can afford either.

The specs are as follows :

Yamaha AX397 :

Hi,
I have auditioned the Denon 510, but didn't find it any better than the Norge-1000 (@11k) that I was comparing with. This Denon I suppose cost 17k. Considering the costs and quality aspect I wouldn't recommed this Denon.

No idea about the Yamaha. BTW have your frozen your choices between these two? If yes, then any particular reason?

Norge and Sonodyne integrated amps are also available in the 10~12K region. Main thing is that you should audition the amps with the music you listen to before you buy.

If it's any hint, Bose seems to use Yamaha amplification at their Bose stores, at least in the few that I've visited. so maybe the bose guys feel that yam amplification flatters their stuff more.

cheers

When I listened,I found Denon was superior. It has wide soundstage,Trebles little sweat,no harshness.Norge is good budget amp ,but can sound loud/harsh on higher volume.

Dude it all comes down to the music you want to listen to.. If you're into Rock and Heavy Metal, trust me the denon can impress. I just auditioned one today.. Never felt happier. Just my say

Thats probably because they buy preowned Yamaha recievers for their showrooms.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
