Help to buy 7.1 Home Theatre Speakers

I Recently Purchased a Sony STR DN 1010 AV Receiver (~276 USD). I have PS3 Connected to it. Now looking for the right Speakers to create a complete 7.1 channel home theatre system. I am in US for another 1 month or So. Shall i purchase from here or get it from India. I am looking for something arround Rs. 30-40 K.

Speaker packages are heavy, so if you bring them as part of luggage, extra baggage fees might be as high as $200.

Yeah you are correct, baggage charges may be high. So where can i get good quality speakers in Pune and which company shall i go for.

In a budget less than 1-2 lacs, a 7.1 is out of question unless you are buying an entry level HTiB from Onkyo.

I would suggest a good quality 5.1 setup (assuming that music isn't as important as movies are).

For 40k, you can get Q Acoustic HTiB. For about half of it you can get Polk RM6750 or Polk 705.

You can also get Mission MV-8 HTiB for about 26k.

With your budget you can go for:
Wharf 9.1 + Wharf 9.0 + Wharf center + entry level sub

If you are in the states, you can go for this combo off ebay Polk

Monitor 30 $120 approx
Center
PSW110 $100-150

Will set you back around 25-30k + customs + extra luggage charges, so will turn out to be over 40k, but still lower than what you would need to pay over here

I am also on the look out of an avr + 5.1 speaker

I happened to see the following offers for speakers.


1.MV series Floor Standers fronts ,5.1+ms-10sub(200w) (Rs 30k )

2.Monitor Audio M Series with sub -(Rs.50 k)

3.Wharfdale vardus 400 Floor standers fronts,5.1 -(Rs.47k)

4.Wharfdale obsidian floor standers fronts, (w/o sub)-(Rs.38k)

5.Profx Fusion 6 Floor standers,with sub - (Rs 32k)

Want to check with you guys that whether Mission mv series is good,the rate is too tempting...

Which one of the above u suggest to be paired with Denon 1611 or Yamaha 567.


My budget for the entire set up is 60k max.
