Hello friends I want to buy a new media player as I mostly have all blu ray movies on my 1 tb wd hard drive. Now I want to know that it's there any media player on which I can download torrents directly on my hard drive.
Thanks.

Budget .....???

KDLinks 720 is one of the top media player out there .... google for details ....

Yes has internal Bit Torrent Client that does the job, mind you I do not own this media player, I am sharing, what I have read online, you yourself should also google and read for you own satisfaction

Nick101, I'd suggest go for something that at least does full HD. KDLinks 720 doesn't do 1080p. Spend a bit more and get something that's at least current.

Thanks guys for your replies but I was buying media player mainly to download torrents 24/7 without keeping my laptop on. Now I have came to know that there are some routers with inbuilt torrent client. On which we can attach a external hard drive and directly download torrent on the hard drive. Can you guys suggest me Some of this routers .
Thanks

I use KDlinks 720 and it plays full HD 1080P. Torrents can be directly downloaded to hard drive but if used through wifi it is too slow however it does a better job when connected through a wired LAN. BTW almost all media players now does 1080P

Hi

As per my experience, media players keep updating almost quickly and then we get inclined to purchase the latest model and one has to decide to draw the line if you need to be on a budget and set other priorities in place.

For me personally, I got a Blu Ray player in place which practically reads all possible formats and is upgradable through USB after firmware download or by hooking it up through LAN. I play music and watch movies through the connected 1 TB external hard disk. I rely on my laptop for downloads which I keep on during the night period for better speeds and file sharing availability. You can program your Laptop screen to go on sleep / power savings mode. This works for me.

End of the day, it is one's decision to see what would be cost effective and appealing in terms of demand and requirements.

Please visit DD-WRT site. There you will find a comprehensive list of routers that either support torrent client, or can be flashed to do so.

IMO, flashing a router and attaching a USB hard drive is the most cost-effective (and environment friendly) way of using a torrent client.

You are suggesting for torrent download ...flashing a router is the best option :rolleyes:???

What OP has asked does not necessarily mean its the easiest and best option ....... thats why we have discussion and forums ...... flashing a router is never an easy and recommended option unless you know what you are doing ......

BTW you didnt even know KDLinks did 1080p, and just posted without even reading, and then didnt even acknowledge the mistake ....... and telling me to stop rolling eyes ......

Listen, you have no idea what forums are for. You may have a lot of time to waste on non-sense and you are entitled to do what you think forums are for. But don't try to sell you idea of what a forum is for to everyone else. Not at least to me.

My idea of a forum is to help help people with what they are comfortable with. And that's what I do. I don't tell others this is what they should think too. So don't cross your line in your attempt to tell others what forums are for.at the

And don't pollute the thread. OP is seeking some info here. If you can't stay on the topic take the PM route to sell your ideas of a forum. But spare others' thread.

Nick101, sorry about the OP. Back to your question, do look at the suggested site and come back with any questions you may have.
