Hissing Sound in Onkyo Reciver

Hi

I have an Onkyo Tx SR 507 receiver, which is 2 years old. For a few days I observed it is giving hissing sound from all the speakers depending upon the listening mode. And if I increase the volume of the receiver, the hissing turns in noise as if some spark were happening some where.

I thought to discuss in the forum before looking for its service in Pune.

I even put off all the electrical appliances in home. Still the noise is coming.
One thing I observed, if the source has DTS/Dolby audio, and when I pause the source and increase the volume of AVR, this time I dont get any noise.I even turned off the source and took out the incoming HDMI cable, still it is there.

This was not happening earlier.

Please suggest if someone has any experience.

Check the wirings of your speakers, If the wires are passing along with other electrical wires, then the hissing sound is found which I found in my case.

If you suspect the same, try moving the receiver to a new place and connect two speakers with short wires, note: the connection you are using should have proper earthing.
