Hello guys,

I want to build a HT system for movies and music ( love song, acoustic, pop not EDM thing ). I'm having a Yamahaa AVR RX-V475 and NS-F-150. Now I'm planing to build/upgrading a full 5.1 system or 7.1 with budget is about 1-2000 dollars. I wanna ask you guys for which brand should I go for each component in this range, and is my F150 too bad and it need to be replace too ?

Thank you so much!

Hi

What choices are available in your area where you propose to buy from ?

What's your room size ?

Regards

hi there,

i would add a center speaker first

check out the matching yamaha center speaker.

It all about matching and synergy.

Yamaha fronts + AVR + center should go well.

For the rears - look at wall mountable types like Polk OWM series etc..

The Elacs may be good - i have no personal experience of them but they seem to require more power so that means you might have to change your AVR and then its a slippery slope again.

Subwoofer - maybe an 8 inch one or a 10 inch one from any brand - fitting your budget will do.

There is no need for "timbre match" with subwoofer..

hope i could help..

please post on this forum if you need more information..

maybe other HT experts can chip in too..

I used to have a HT before but now its 2 ch stereo only

Note : Some people like the Dali Kubik - its a powered soundbar with bluetooth and its has good reviews and it will fit beneath your TV.
You can add an optional sub-woofer too.. it will be compact and look good as well.. check it out on the net

take care

regards

Now I'm planing to build/upgrading a full 5.1 system or 7.1 with budget is about 1-2000 dollars.

Could you please share some web links where some of these products are aval like Lazada?.. (or) other dealers who have list of products on their website..

Which AVR models are you considering tentatively?..

Denon & Marantz AVR models are made in Vietnam.. Guess, that should make it cheaper than others there..

Thanks elango..

Now u can guide..

HT is not my cuppa..

Nope.. You did right @mpw .. I feel you too should chip in more often, you had HT in the past.. Any input from your experience will be valuable..

The user was looking to upgrade from 5.1 AVR to a more fulfilling movie experience.. So just asked him for some more inputs from him & then suggest accordingly to his budget..

Thank you a lot for your guides, I'm thinking about buy center of Yamaha but just wondering about Yamaha's sound quality if there any other better option, I don't mind If I have to upgrade front speaker but it has to be worthy :D. I feel like the Yamaha's sound stage is not really good, don't know if because I only have 2 front ?! I can upgrade to Yamaha's expensive front NS-700, I can upgrade other part later, but it has not good review in here: https://www.whathifi.com/yamaha/ns-700/review

Nope.. It is an entry level AVR from Yamaha, probably 6 yrs old model..

I use approx calculation to covert your maximum budget of USD $2000 to 46,561,471 VND..

--------------
If you wish to use Yamaha RXV 475, you can consider the suggestion by the other FM.. (or) you can consider this based on you budget..

Move the existing Yamaha NSF 150 to surrounds & upgrade your fronts ( L - C - R)..

Klipsch RP160M BS - https://audiosonha.com/p/8413-loa-klipsch-rp-160m-cap.html - Approx 8,500,000 VND..

Klipsch RP440c center - https://audiosonha.com/p/8419-loa-center-klipsch-rp-440c-cai.html - Approx 8,500,000 VND..

These Klipsch speakers have higher sensitivity and should demand less power from your AVR..

And one (or) two subwoofers depending on if you can accommodate them in you room..

Subwoofer - https://audiosonha.com/p/10950-pioneer-subwoofer-s-ms3sw.html - Approx 6,200,000 VND for 1.. If 2, then 12,400,000 VND..

-----------------
If you wish to upgrade to Atmos / Dts X (5.2.2) capable AVR, then move the Yamaha FS to surrounds..

AVR - https://audiosonha.com/p/12603-yamaha-rx-v583-av-receiver.html - Approx 12,000,000 VND..

Add a pair of in-ceiling speakers in your remaining budget.. This will make your set-up 5.2.2..

Wow, thank you so much, this is so detail and help me a lot to decide :eek: There are something I wanna ask
- "you can consider the suggestion by the other FM." - What is FM here ??
- If I upgrade the front (NS-F 150), which model/brand should I looking for ??
- So AVR of Yamaha is still worth the money, right ?

Klipsch, RP series 160M bookshelf, RP440c center channel speaker .. Links provided in earlier post..

Yes.. Your AVR does Dts HD-MA / Dolby True HD.. Upgrade to 7.1 AVR only if you need Atmos / Dts X..

Thank you so muchhh, maybe I will try the front speaker of Klipsch too, is it good ? So in this class, Klipsch is a good brand to choose, right ? https://audiosonha.com/p/9080-loa-klipsch-rp-250f-cap.html

Klipsch is as good as any other brand.. You can check online reviews for specific models..

For the same (or) little more money you spend on the above link (floorstanders), you can choose Klipsch Bookshelf speaker + Klipsch center..

You can choose one (or) two subwoofer (link provided earlier) to do the bass duty..

Thank you!

RX-V475 is a good 5.1 ch AVR. Even if you look at the latest same series RX-V483/85 and the atmos enabled 583/585 the power numbers are same. My suggestion would be to use the AVR unless you are looking for more features like Atmos/DTS-X, Wi-fi etc.

Hello guys, I have something to ask you guys urgent.
At my place, they're having a deal for center spearker : Focal Aria CC 900 - Noyer color, the price only about 250$, is this worthy ??

there will always be this deal or that....

as far as possible - keep front 3 speakers ( LRC) same brand same model
