Friends,

I have bought a 2nd hand Marantz NR5400. I am on a tight budget.
Please help me in deciding on speaker set up. The receiver channels is 8 ohms.
My budget is max 15000/-.I am based out of chennai.

Options please.

At 15k its slightly difficult to recommend 5.1 that can do justice to the AVR. I suggest you have a look at Astonia cube speaker setup. Check out their website. Other option is to buy only bookshelf speakers now snd add center later.

Your present budget is a little too tight, suggest you look at a gradual upgrade which many FMs have done. You can pick up some entry level BS like Sonodyne 1501, JBL Control One, Norge Nano, BA A 25. Out of these JBL and Norge may not be good enough for a home theatre setup later however I would suggest you auditon the speakers and then decide on what your ears tell you.

Re: Home theatre Speakers for marantz NR5400..help pl..

Thanks for your suggestions.

I have zeroed in on a 3 year used jbl control one bs spkrs.
The quoted price is Rs.5,500/-.

Should I go in for it?

Please help...

Yeah buddy..

Sorry...was a typo...model is SR5400

Is control one ok????

Cheers,

Marantz SR5*00 series of AVR really good... They do a fantastic job with stereo.... I had the pleasure of owing it for close to 2 years & know its strenghts.....

Control one is OK since you are are on tight budget.... As suggested earlier, when you upgrade your fronts & center later, move this speaker as surrounds...
