Hi Guys,
Help me out! I am planning for a subwoofer for my stereo setup of NAD C352 with Zensor 5 speakers. My NAD has two preouts. I am using an external power amplifier on preout one,Now should I connect the subwoofer L & R IN to my NAD preout 2? Will this stop all bass signals to my Zensor 5 & let the subwoofer do the job. My stereo amp doesnt have any crossover settings confused

if there is no crossover cut means you are sending full frequency to the sub.
there is a crossover setting at the back of the sub.you need to set it according to your needs.
but cutoff from amp gives better results than the sub cutoff.

Yes, remove the jumpers which connects the Preout 2 & the Main in ... With a 2 RCA cable, connect the NADs Preout 2 to the subwoofer's L & R IN

NO .. it will not stop/cut-off any frequencies ... output from the Preout 1 & 2 are full frequency signals

I am not aware/I have not come across in th past any stereo amp that comes with crossover settings but all the Home theatre amps (AVRs)/processors will definitely have subwoofer crossover settings.

After connecting the NADs Preout 2 to the subwoofer's L & R IN, locate the crossover knob at the rear side of the subwoofer and initially set the crossover point at 60Hz (Max) if your speakers are floorstanders or set it at 100Hz (Max) if your speakers are bookshelves ... You may not get the best result in this setting ... You should keep adjusting/fine tuning the crossover point to achieve this bcoz the performance/effect will vary depending upon your front speakers bass response, subwoofer placement, room size & room acoustics ... While you play your music try decreasing this crossover point in steps of 5Hz or 10Hz and decide at which point you are getting the best result.

Also, it is very important to match the volume level of your NAD and the subwoofer's volume level ... This knob also you will find at the rear of the sub ... This level matching is also equally important to get the best out of your system

what sub are you planning to buy?

There is a subwoofer on sale on the classifieds sections & olx.

1. Polk PSW 125 for 15.5K
2. Klipsch RW 8 for 14K (discontinued product)

Guys can anyone suggest which one of these would you select with reasons please. I have never had a sub before this is my first sub.My PC altec ATP3 2.1 speakers has a sub though. But I feel thats muddy bass. Want something much better than that.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
