I recently purchased JBL ES250 PW from amazon.de and got it yesterday. I am having RXV 663. and I am waiting for Floor Standers to arrive. I basically planned for 2.1 setup initially.

Since I purchased online, I dont want to wait for testing and confirming the sub woofer is all fine and intact, so that my warranty applies and can claim damage if required. But not sure how to test it.

Is there a way to test the sub woofer ? pls help

Download Subwoofer Test mp3. This is testing mp3 and freely available. Connect your sub. Adjust crossover freq to 160Hz or so since you do not have FS.
Put those in a USB drive and play. You should be able to get the effects.

Other easy method is to take it to your friends place and test.

As you don't have FS so if you ll play mp3 don't know what you ll hear....You can try Test Tone Option from your AMP .... ;-)

just play any song - some modern tunes/ beats, you should be able to hear some booom, if the sub goes below you listening range , just put you fingers on the diaphragm and it should throw it out or you should feel the vibration

This would not be song MP3 . This is specific low frequency test MP3. He will definitely listen booms, resonance, vibrations etc.

I tried YAPO settings in my AVR, but it failed since there are no front speakers. tried playing normal song, put the cross over frequency in 150 hz, but still no sound in my wub.. am confused now

In straight mode, you may not get sub working.Use stereo mode & if fronts are set as large, then use Double/Extra Bass option on.
