I was quoted the following for HT configuration.

BANANA JACKS 16.00 PCS - Rs. 280.00
SUPRA SPKR CABLE 20.00 MTRS - Rs. 650.00
SUPRA SUBWOOFER CABLE 2 MTR - Rs. 5,800.00
Wireworld HDMI Cable 1 SET - Rs. 15,000

Am i being hosed?

I am firmly in the camp that shielding and good end-connectors are primary requirements of any cable and rest is all hot-air.

also on the subwoofer cable front
though the supra sub cable is well made
(i have seen the internals )
it is stlll a bit expensive probably due to the sweden tag , duties margins etc

there are cheaper alternates like MX,blue rigger anda plethora of cables on amazon
Users have decent reports on these
However on a budget system ( under 2lacs) all these cables will sound the same and seem dandy

you driver a ferrari in a crowded street is not very differnt from driving a skoda
YOu cant harness its potential

The best sub cales are QUAD cores with a super shield
where the shield is unconnected and used only for RFI EMI interference rejection over the long runs

all the ebay amazon cheaper cables are basically single core Co axials
( basically an RCA cable ) where the sheild is actually connected to the barrel and carries the signal return
As i said these will work in most situations in all budget setups

You wont know something is better till you have tried it
no ?

A gen monster is still a decent buy for a sub cable
they know what they are doing

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
