HT-R340 Installation in Chennai

Hi All,

I have bought Onkyo HT-R340 from US in 2008 but i am getting below error when i connect the speaker.

"Phones engaged"

I have contacted Chennai Onkyo service, it cost around 3500 Rs for installation and if any issues cost more.

Is any Onkyo service engg. available outside onkyo in chennai.

I hope i reached the correct forum, please help...

Are you sure about this message? What do phones have to do with an AV System. And I am surprised Onkyo Chennai agreed to help. They usually are very abrasive with people who do not buy equipment from them.

Try plugging in some phone plug in the jack and unplug them couple of times and see if it's throwing some sound. Just give a short and see...Hope it works.

Did you ever plug in headphones either during set up or any other time?

The set thinks that it is connected to headphones and therefore is cutting off the connection to the speakers.

1. Insert Headphones and then test it and then remove it.
2. Try resetting to factory defaults ( must be in the manual someplace)
3. Worst case - there might be a short in the headphones jack and you might have to get it repaired ( this is a simple fix and should not be expensive - so ask around for estimates).
