HT without DVD Player =>5.1 speakers for existing DVD player

Hi All,
Need some advice :

I already have 2 DVD players
1. LG DV356-P
2. Phillips 727K

It seems both of these would support 5.1 Speaker system.
So, I need to buy only a speaker system ?

If yes, then what is my best choices for the same ? and which of the above DVD player I should use ?

If the above option is not feasible and Receiver is needed, I was looking at YHT-196 as an alternative. What difference will i find in a HT with or without a AV Receiver ?

If the DVDPs have analog 5.1 out then an ordinary 5.1 speaker system can be used. However HT with AVR is recommended as the AVR has many options like hdmi inputs, digital inputs, dts, dolby digital decoding etc. The sound quality will also be better than the cheap 5.1 speaker systems.

Comments about Yamaha YHT 196 ?
Am getting it for 23490 at Reliance Digital.

I think the price is a little high, users have bought it for around 20K.

true. but seems most of them bought about a year back. did some online research, cant find it below this elsewhere.

Any one having any idea abt availability and price in Pune ?
