HTB front speakers for music

Hi all,
Need your expert help to setup my HTB front speakers.
I have a Sony BD3100 Bluray HTB which is good for Movies but listening music on it is a nightmare.
So I am thinking about replacing those front speakers. I dont have a big budget, I can spend up to 5 or 6K.
Those front speakers using 3 3 ohms full range woofer(Dont know why Sony doing this, its our hard earned money ). I want to use a 2 way speaker so that I can enjoy some music also on my HTB.
What are my options?
1. Can I use the same speaker provide by Sony and add a dome tweeter on it? If yes then how?
2. Can I use a different woofer and tweeter set? (They are available in 4, 6, 8 ohms) I cant find any 3 ohms woofer and tweeter set.
3. Can my HTB drive a 4 ohms woofer and tweeter set?
4. Can I use 3 ohms Sony woofer with a 4 ohms dome tweeter?

Please help me.
 
Hi

Look out for small speakers which are rated at 4 ohms....you may not get to blast the volume but you will get some quality sound.

Within that budget, it would be difficult, check on Amazon or local made speakers.....

Else pre owned ones available on OLX or QUIKR or Hi FI Ads.....JBL SCS 140 mini satellites are 50w RMS at 4 ohms and are 2 way speakers....maybe they would work

What I want to know is If I run 4 ohms rated speakers on my HTB this will not blow out.

and JBL SCS 140 is a 5.1 system, I don't think I can buy only 2 satellites.

Can I use 3 ohms Sony woofer with a 4 ohms dome tweeter with crossover?

Running 4 ohms speaker on 3 ohms HTB is not an issue, higher impedance speaker would mean, it would draw less power from the AMP.

I am not sure if you would get good quality speakers for 5-6 K, you can try Q Acoustics 2010i or 2010 for small bookshelves, they are decent for both movies and music. Their minimal impedance is 4 ohms and nominal is 6 ohms.

I got it.
I know in 5-6K i will not get a good speakers, but that's a max I can spend for now. Small speakers will be enough for me right now because I already have Sub with HTB. I will go for good Amp and Speakers later.
What if I build my own speakers for now. a 3" woof and a 1" tweet will be enough? what do you suggest?
 
Hi,

Audition and decide for preowned stuff. If you can get something new within 5-6k...why not trip on that provided it meets ur expectations!

Not able to find any in my city.
May be I should build my own, need your suggestion.
If I use two 4" 6 ohms woofer and two 1\2" 6 ohms tweeter in parallel with crossover, will that be 3 ohms total? :confused:
Or should I use one 4" 6 ohms woofer and one 1" 6 ohms tweeter parallel directly?

Which city are you based in?

Secondly look in DIY section....you will find some answers to make some small speakers...there are also FMs who make speakers..

I am thinking about to go for DIY because seconds are not available near me.
About DIY - i don't have a idea from where to start, reading posts to get some idea.
Because I am on low budget (6K only) don't know after building the speakers how they will sound.
Small bookshelf from Sonodyne are about 10K, should I wait a bit and buy them or build my own under 10k....:confused:

All are without tweeter....
My HTB already have full range front speaker.
If I increase my budget and go for a Amp + Speaker for 20 to 25K, what will be the best in that?
