Op amp in your case is soldered to the board you will need a good desoldering gun, desordering wick, copious amounts of Flux to remove. Later you insert a ic base for rolling opamps.
Upgrading the preamp section, capacitors in the signal path and power capacitors would be the best upgrades. Transformer upgrade is un necessary as a first upgrade.
Be careful not to damage PCB tracks.
It seems the circuit uses 4x1000 uf ie 4000 uf per rail. Getting it up to 10000 uf per rail is preffered. 2500 uf x4. Note the diameter of the caps before ordering. You can add 0.1 uf caps to each cap on the soldering side to further decrease ripple.
Later you can change all caps of the preamp board to polyester wifa if you can get them cheap.
