Is it the end of S-Video

Onkyo has announced its new 2009 AVR 307, 507, 577 & 607.
In these models the S-Video inputs / output are missing. Is it the end of S-Video.

Yes. Component-in was the standard for many years.

Well, let us all pray that his soul rests in peace. He did yeoman service as long as he was alive. Have to search for the cable that I have somewhere and save it for the museum that I am building.
