The movies are transmitted as 2channel stereo anyways, so whats the problem with these people to transmit at least Dolby surround encoded signal. At least people who use avr can decode the dolby surround. Others can continue with stereo or mono.
If DTH guys transmit Dolby Surround (even if it is 2.0) only, then we need a decoder to listen to the same, not everybody in India will have one. If you are looking at an extra 2.0 channel along with the normal 2.0 stereo sound, then they need extra bandwidth which I think is the bottleneck for Indian DTH providers.
