Dont have first hand experience however I researched the Honda Jazz when was looking to buy the conscious I found was that the 1.2 Petrol engine was under powered and the diesel clunky and noisy.

The new 1.5l 3 cylinder petrol on the ecosport should be ok diesel is tried and tested technology.

Might be worth it for you to join team-bhp forums.

Jazz has a CVT . it will roll back on inclines .

The Ecosport AT (new one) is a TC- it will be better on hilly slopes as the box builds up torque and thus won't roll back. Also, Ecosport AT earlier was a really loaded model, safety-wise. 6 airbags etc. a huge plus over the Jazz
