HI,

I am getting a deal for these. How are these combined with a Xonar DX?

Regards.

I don't know how they compare against the Xonar DX but I have the JBLs and am quite happy with their performance!

Xonar DX is a sound card. How are yours connected? Where did you get that complex cable from?

Sorry - I thought you meant "compare" and not "combined".

I use a Raspberry Pi based media player as the source and Hifiberry DAC (which is attached on top of the raspberry Pi). The DAC has RCA out and the JBLs have TRS input. I use a custom made cable which has RCA connecter on one end and the TRS on the other.

Any idea where I can buy that type of cable?

Can you tell me why you think mackies are better than these JBLs? Did you audition 'em side by side? I know it's subjective, but just wanted to understand why you chose what you chose.
It was ignorant of me to say mackies are better than JBLs.

Just found out Mackie 624s are better than these.
I have the 524 connected to my PC. They are excellent for the price. Has just a hint of warmth compared to JBLs which makes listening to them for longer easier. It is easily the best 20k I have ever spend on a pair of speakers.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
