Hi, go the Tata Sky HD with the annual no frills package. Total with the HD box and annual pack that has all the Chanels is 7900 which is fairly decent. My rating is 10/10 for the HD quality.
My only issue is audio isent heard when played thru my Denon AVR 390 via HDMI only picture is seen, but when the same is connected direct to the Plasma it works fine both audio and video. Any Gyan on this???

Congrats Ritesh. I too got Tata Sky HD installed in my dad's room yesterday. Even Non-HD channels look much better compared to Tata Sky Plus connected via Component.

About sound not being heard through AVR, I guess it must be a setting on the Tata Sky box or AVR where you will configure it to pass through the audio signal to the AVR.

as the normal tatasky dth output is 4:3 my x20 plasma show it stretched when i use normal mode and if i choose 4:3 aspect there are sidebars in it. whats the output format of HD and do picture look stretched in HD too?

HD format is always 16:9. So anything HD will always have 16:9 format (well except for Anamorphic Widescreen for movies, but lets not get into that, shall we ).

I am not technical, but I remember audio on denon 390 has some problem over hdmi (like return channel some techy jargon).
You can try connecting from optical output.

guys any idea.. where tata sky HD can be brought in HYD..i checked (out of stock) my airtel will be expiring today and i dont want to waste another 250 bucks recharging it for next 30 days.

HD doesnt mean 16:9 but its commonly 16:9 and i was talking about output format of tata sky HD STB. normal tata-sky output is 4:3 so pictures look stretched(earth in discovery logo is not round). so i was asking in case of HD STB the pictures look stretch too or not.
