Kratos post kinda confused me. Unless it was a Typo

As far as I know if it is outside PCMC limits there is no Octroi and if it falls within limits there is a 4% Octroi added to it.

I guess that's why we even have different price lists for new Cars / Bikes
((PCMC and Outside Octroi))

Yeah

PCMC (Pimpri Chinchwad Muncipal Corp) may be its 6% there as said by Kratos.

PMC (Pune Muncipal Corp) is 4%.

That means ordering Aviano 6 will result around 2k of Octroi charges.

So Im planing to order the my A6s in Wagholi (comes out of PMC area) there's a small snack center of my relative. Hope to skip the Octroi thr and save some for a Party after my HT setup

I was talking about the Octroi which one needs to pay when entering in PCMC.
Sometime back I purchased some furniture from Pune,but while moving it to Pimple Saudagar I had to pay octroi (approx 4-6 % on the bill price)

This is still valid,you can see the goods carrier/transport trucks lined up at the Sanghvi/Phugewadi Jakatnaka (Octroi post)

So if any shipment arrives in PCMC there would be additional octroi levied on it,not sure if Pune also attracts the same

So picked up the speakers,dumped in car,covered it & avoided this extra cost

Yes if the speakers were shipped they need to pay Octroi as my home lies in PCMC limit,there is no Octroi for Pune

I am a living victim of Octroi in Pune. Today's newspaper (TOI) also talks about abolition of this abomination is being opposed vehemently by trade unions.

Hey Fellas,

The Avianos are home.Out of the box they are sounding pretty good.
40K was the price paid.

I also checked the Jamo FS but did not liked them much.

You would need to audition the Aviano's and then decide. There is definite answer as to which is better.

Hello All,

I am a new bee interms of listening to professional audio. I stay in pune and am building a home theatre . The size is 16 ft by 11 ft. Its a dedicated home theatre room. I have bought the projector Epson TW 6100. Pending : 5.1 system and AVR.

I prefer movies over music. But the FS should give decent performance for music to considering the cost I am going to Pay.
I intend to buy Denon x2000 with Paradigm Monitor 9 v7 5.1 set up.
(Refined Controlled bass is my preference)

I have auditioned the following FS.

1) Polk Audio RTi7 - Was good with music as well as movies
2)Paradigm Monitor 9 v7 - the best so far for movies . Was not impressed with the quality of the music.
3) Pro Audio - Never heard of them from the FM.
4) Jamo s506- Average

Still to Audition
1) PSB6
2) Wharfadale 10.7
3) Tannoy
My budget for the AVR and the 5.1 set up would be round about 2 Lacs.
Can u please suggest any other speakers that i should audition also the dealer details from Pune can help.
Secondly can i do the calibration of the speaker set up on my own as I have been quoted a good price from a dealer in Mumbai and it would not be possible from him to come down to Pune and help!!

I felt that SoundScape, aundh is costly. Last year I was looking for a FS, I got lower quot from avexcellance than soundscape. I thin avexcellance and aquaries are better dealers in pune.

Exactly I have found better deals than avexcellence one of the dealers in bangalore and the others in mumbai

That is true, I felt stuffs in pune are very costly compared to Mumbai or any other cities
