Confirmed Aviano 6 prices has increased infact there is not a single piece left in chennai and banglore.

Looks like it would be in the range of 41/42K

Regarding the amp,I did not bothered as I wanted a demo with my AVR which I carried.

He is quoting a new price on the old stock. I have spoken to Mordaunt Short company Sales person and he has confirmed the new stock will be coming to Chennai warehouse by 20th June. All the Indian dealers get the speakers from Chennai warehouse.
It will be better to invest 4k and get Aviano 8 at 46k (old rate).

Arcam alpha 7 cd player

Guys,

How is Arcam alpha 7 cd player? I'm getting a used one in good condition for 10K.
Dealer says new one costs 35K,should I go for it? Any other options in 10K range?

There's no new one available as its a very old model. The SQ is decent, my biggest concern with that player is its build quality.

Hey Kratos, I thought I was eyeing it!! Rohit even allowed me to have it for 2-3 days at my home. The quality is fabulous.

But then I did some research on CD players... This range started off in late 80's!! In fact this particular model might have been popular in 90's. I am also thinking twice about CD player in preference to one of the DACs.

But the most popular, current generation player from Arcam is CD17, which is selling at about Rs. 35k or so; though I haven't really verified it. And not easy to get second hand ones.

When you put 5006 on sale I would like to buy it. Hope you bought it in a group buy from HiFimart. May I know the reason for selling SR5006 are they are not capable for driving PSB Image T6.

I got fairly decent price from Soundscape.

The SQ of my current combination (SR5006, LG blueray CD player) is pathetic. For brief time, I had Arcam 7SE and NAD326 from Rohit, and that combination is definitely much much better.

I am most certainly going in for NAD356; and still researching CD player. As per suggestions in forum, I will be trying to use SR5006 as preamps. I don't have much interest in movies, so unless I have better SQ as preamp, it will be up for sale may be a month from now.

BTW, I just ordered Objective DAC (about $150 + $17 for international shipping) as an impulse buy! Let us see.

The Avianos are home.Out of the box they are sounding pretty good.
40K was the price paid.

I also checked the Jamo FS but did not liked them much.

Sure,wifey is away so we can definitely plan.
Yes if the speakers were shipped they need to pay Octroi as my home lies in PCMC limit,there is no Octroi for Pune
