Lawyer by Day. By Night, He Built the Coolest Vinyl Bar: The Sound Bar

This is interesting Nikhil,
The concept of a vinyl bar seems to be catching up in India too. Are they a big hit with the general public or, at least, a big section of music lovers?
There is one in Goa, but its popularity is more because of its general ambience rather than the fact that there are vinyls being played. Obviously, the line is thin, but what i mean is that the majority of patrons are neither vinyl lovers nor audio enthusiasts.
Cheers!

It's a fad for the current generation because it seems cool... 4-5 have mushroomed in Delhi as well but the patrons are exactly the type Kishore described...

Yes. It has always been a concern whether patrons can listen silently and pay attention.
We did pink floyd and miles davis here in Dharamshala and both times it was familiar faces and people were quiet and listened through and were happy to experience it.
Another bar here in McLeodganj sent out an invite. Its a fad thats catching up for sure.

I feel people feed off the energy of the owner/mc or whoever plays the records and with a backdrop of info and trivia, people generally are glued. Its difficult to just play records and have people interested. IMG-20251004-WA0006.jpg

We'll take them in whatever shape or form they come. I think it's a positive.
Anytime someone new gets to experience audio I think it's a good thing.

I wanted to share another video that showed up on my Youtube - an Audiophile BnB!

What kind of other music are your patrons interested in? Pink Floyd is good but a bit cliche. Is there anything interesting you play?

Yes, I agree. That pink floyd album is overdone everywhere. No escaping it.
But also the idea is to experience familiar music on a turntable so these popular choices help. But I totally get what you mean.
