Hey anyone using normal 19-24 inch LCD tv as regular pc monitor?
How is the performance?
Is it strain to eyes?
Also how is results using Word and Excel?
Any advantages in movie viewing?

Or how is performance of TV made from PC LCD monitor? ( External?
Or dedicated TV is better?

Last anyone using LG's LCD TV & PC Monitors? Any advantages justifying price?

Well, I did exactly opposite. Was looking for 22 inches monitor as my good old 20" CRT was dying. Saw LG monitor/ Tv Combo for 15K before 1 year. But heard internal tuner can create some issues in this type. (although not sure)

Setlled for full HD LCD monitor and using it as TV via TV tuner(with remote) purchased for 800/- Its output is more than expactations.

Again i did exactly the opposite too :)
I got the Dell2408 t ouse as a video monitor long-term and for my PC short-term. It has 2 DVI-D, hdmi, display-port, component-in, composite-in, usb hub, usb port, mmc and sd card reader built-in. It is IPS or S-PVA panel in 16:10 format which is any day better than 16:9. A similar 16:10 TV with IPS will cost a bomb!!

Cheers

If your TV has a VGA In, it can certainly be used a a monitor. But remember depending upon the DPI, your text may be a little difficult to read while pictures and graphics will be fine. In addition, a monitor's refresh rate is much higher than that of a TV, though even this is becoming close nowadays.

In terms of a monitor acting as a TV, all it needs is a TV tuner. Then it becomes a full fledged TV.

The biggest issue with using a large TV as a monitor is on our side. I always found it strange sitting some 10 feet away using a wireless keyboard and and a mouse and using the system. We are so used to have the monitor a few feet away from our eyes. Making a presentation, though, is more comfortable.

Many photography shops have started using 30 inch monitors/TV for both OS use as well as video. 27inch monitors/TV are very common with Apple.

well, monitor i use is samsung Syncmaster 2333SW. Although its a very good monitor it lacks HDMI (HDMI was not my priority that time due to limited use of using as monitor only) It costed around 13.5K -2K for my old 20" CRT monitor.

Tuner is Supercomp SETV-102.
Supercomp

Its very portable, with remote and supports to 1680 x 1050 as per manual.
Although I am using Dish TV which has lower resoution.
