I am planning to buy a LCD TV. However after reading on the net, searching on the forum and seeing the actual units I am confused between:

1- Samsung series 5 vs. Sony Bravia W/V (major price difference)
2 - Sony Bravia W vs V series (major price difference again!)

I have decided on a 32". I also understand that this is a much asked question however any suggestions here would help

Thanks

What are your priorities:
Best possible PQ for SD or Full HD?
Good sound?
Good VFM?
Good looks in your living room?
Great brand value for neighbours' envy?

Your criteria are conflicting. You cannot have best possible PQ and Good VFM at the same time.
I think your best bet is to specify your budget and then your needs in order of priority.
For best possible PQ you may look at Sony W series or better. However, this MAY not fit into your definition of VFM.
