I connected a pair of headphones to it for a few minutes to compare it to the onboard sound from my laptop. That difference was brilliant!

I've had it plugged in for about 30 minutes now and the most noticeable difference so far is the astounding level of detail as compared to the sound earlier (from an airport express).
