Hi All... am from Bangalore..
Please help me or suggest me a decent media player..
Honestly i am a layman in this field.. i don't even know the terminologies.. i have been searching this forum since sometime to figure out what media player would be good..

My usage is simple.. just want to play net downloaded videos on my TV.. am not sure of the files and formats.. looking for a media player in a budget of 4K which plays it all..

Believe me i don't even have a DVD player back home.. never felt the necessity.. but as my kids growing they want some cartoon movies, rhymes n stuff to see.. plus i download some lectures which i watch on my smartphone but its not that convenient & limited to just me and a 5 inch screen..

Was looking at ASUS O!Play MINI.. is it too outdated for my use?

references and suggestions highly appreciated..

Thanks in advance

Hi

There are a lot of Media players available in the market...each one has one or more extra features than the other....I used IOmega and Amkette.....Amkette seemed to be better value for money and played all formats...connectivity was analog as well as HDMI .....downside was that you cannot play discs...hence I went and purchased Pioneer Blu Ray players BDP 150 and BDP LX 55 (one is mine and one is at mom's place) which play all format discs, play files from 1 TB hard disks...pendrives etc....good value for money....

No Worries... Relax... People who had DVD players are not using them so often nowadays as the internet downloads are too popular & seem to be the future.... These days most flat panel TV come with Media player functions, which plays most majority of the format easily...

ASUS O!Play Mini is very good for the price.....

Go for ASUS media players they are very good. I have one O Play Air running strong for last 4 years.

Thanks guys.. I too was inclined on asus.. Please do suggest where can I buy it in bangalore at a reasonable cost.. and what would it be around?

Hi,
If you are okay with preowned media player then please consider following:
I have recently got an good Asus O!play HDP -R1 from a forum member few months ago.
I am not using it much, used only couple times for testing. As at the same time I ended up having another new media player the WDTV live.

Now I have two and I am not using either of them. So I am planning to let go of one and keep one for possible future use. I am planning to put the Asus player on sale in the sale section. If anyone interested they can feel free to contact me. Will do the needful. It is just stored safely and lying around and at least someone can put it to good use and benefit. It is a nice player. Can pass it on at fair price.
