Hello all, so I took a plunge with the Mission VX-4 floor standers and they sound surprisingly good for their price. After unpacking and setting up, I realised one of the speakers have a lesser volume especially on the highs whereas the other speaker sound rich with highs and vocals, the one at fault seems a bit taken back or muddled. To rule out the question of faulty stereo AMP I tried connecting the speakers to the AVR as well and noticed a drop in the highs/ vocals area which I was able to spot when moving near both the speakers side by side. So when hearing from the listening position it sounded like one speaker was more prominent than the other. All the drivers seem to move visibly but I felt there was a bit of a dull sound from the top most driver where the tweeter rests below. Ok the other speaker that zone sounded nice and rounded.
I tried swapping the speakers and noticed the same issue with the so called faulty one. Not sure if it’s an issue with the voice coil or tweeter ?
I spoke to HTStore and they have asked for a quick recording over WhatsApp of the issue for them to figure out what’s happening. Not sure if the phone recording would capture like I told them but I am going to try it today.
Any suggestions on what else I should try ?
