Maratz AVR owners - Please respond

Looks like I saw this thread a bit too late. I use a SR8008 processor which is top grade! For both music and video. I have paired with a 2 channel and 4 channel power amps for the amplification and drive Legacy Focus speakers.
I am actually contemplating selling this processor as I have now separated my music and video setups. Currently the 8008 is part of my music set up but planning to buy a dedicated preamp for stereo only.

3 months old showroom demo Marantz nr1603 in hifi ads fot 38000 rupees.is it worth to go for? though all say marantz more musical, reviews say its good for movies surround sound experience also. I have no speakers now.have to go with receiver for audition and decide.speaker choices are polk rti series or dali zensor 7 or 5. planning to set up in my bedroom which is around 250 squarefeet. pls suggest early as I want to grab the receiver if it is worth. my usage will be 60% airtel hd, 20% movies and 20% music.

I don't believe any of the receiver is made specifically for Moves or Music. Some of them may be a good 'pair' with some speakers.

I personally feel the Marantz can give 'Rich' sound paired with Polk & especially Dali

In simple words the listing experience with Marantz 6008 & Dali Z 7 compared to my Denon 1612 & polk Ts1 400 is like comparing Flac to typical MP3

thanks my friend but i think i didn't get answer for my search. yes i love your recent purchase (marantz sr6008 and dali zensor 7) hmmm i can only think and love that combination but my budget won't. now my doubt is 3 months old demo unit nr1603 is worth for 38000 rupees

Personally i dont think its a good idea. Are you sure about the condition ?

NR1504 is available in HiFi mart for 42K (Coupen code :MARANTZ), Since you're going for 2 FS - 7.1/5.1 receiver doesnt make much difference. Polk is 8ohm speaker and Dali is 6 ohm.

Both the receivers RMS out is 50 W @ 8 ohm

I own 2 Marantz AVRs (1402 and 1601). Yes they are excellent receivers and perform well for music, movies, concerts etc. I use Quads and Boston Acoustics on them and they work really well. They can drive Floor Standing speakers easily.

If you are gonna set this AVR in the bedroom, you may want to consider satellite speakers to save space ...Boston Acoustic Soundware XS 5.1 is good.

Infact a couple of weeks back, there was an offer from Reliance Digital where they were offering the Marantz NR 1504 + Boston Acoustics Soundware S 5.1 speakers + LG Blu Ray player...all for 55k...please check if still available...this is a steal deal!
