Media player?

I'm planning to get a media player for watching movies from my ext HDD...mostly mkv blu ray rips of size in between 4 GB to 16 GB...and also should support subtitles (srt)..I don't intend to use online streaming...

Im also planning to get a htib in sometime, so the media player should be able to connect to the avr of the htib. Budget is 2.5 to 5 k rupees.

Have you personally tried playing high bitrate 1080p movies in anyone of these? If so, kindly share your experience.

I'm ok with the Asus oplay mini...but just want to confirm that the player plays high Bit rate 1080p movies...why I'm soo concerned is because, that's the only purpose I'm planning to buy the media player.

Do u play 1080p movies in ur Asus mini.?what's the size of the movie?

Does ur Asus Mini play all the MKV videos without any stuttering or lag? What is the max size of the video you have played with it? Does it also support srt subtitles with MKV videos?

I have always played movies from NAS stroage connected through wired ethernet cable. I did not have any problem with 1080p files of 10GB or more. About srt subtitles with MKV, I think it supports but do not remember exactly. Later I was using Asus OPlay HD2 and now now I am using xtreamer sidewinder 3.

Oh great. What is the difference between asus mini and the xtreamer u have?

xtreamer sidewinder 3 and asus oplay HD2 have HDD Bay. Asus Oplay mini does not have HDD Bay.
