Remininds on of
this track from Judas Priest. 1 of my fav tracks
original track
Painkiller 'kick started' the metal virus in me in a very big way

Now, when I listen to it, Scott Travis sounds quite mediocre

It due to progression into deeper, heavier, bone crunching metal :licklips:
Yeah Nile guys were denied a visa here. So i don't think its their fault.
I'm guessing your fav Nile album is Annihilation

hyeah: My fav is
In Their Darkened Shrines..although i love Annihilation too!
And when has the entertainment industry not promoted mediocre music
Well Scott Travis is a beast but its not fair to compare him to George Kollias. The style that George plays demands a lot more stamina and technique. Scott is perhaps the best 'popular' drummer..primarily because he joined such an established band in 1989. All other good drummers are really unheard of (with a few exceptions). Btw that's a very nice live performance of Painkiller you've posted there!
Nile was denied Visa 1st time, 2nd time, they had no decent entertainment co. to promote them. So yea, we shall only have to think wishfully that 1 day, most of our favorite metal bands will arrive to make us mosh LIVE!
As for my fav Nile albums,
George Kollias is from another planet! Physically he is so thin & wiry, wonder where he gets all that energy from! I paid close attention to his foot work, it was simply mind blowing :clapping:
WOW. That's something my friend. Did he happen to give you a pair of his sticks?
I wish someday I can see Mike Portnoy perform and maybe get a chance to have a chat. Man, I've been a seriously follower....
I have his pic taken with me, thats all. Was too stunned to even talk properly to him, it all happened so fast. Real down to earth guy with plenty of patience, to answer same questions on how he arrived to this level, his technique, etc etc...
I doubt that'll happen anytime soon man. Unless he gets back with Dream Theater I don't think we can expect him in India (DT themselves have never come here

). His other projects (Transatlantic, Adrenaline Mob, Flying Colors, etc) generally concentrate their tours in Europe and US only!
Talking about fast drummers..Have a look at this guy: Calls himself

This guy can sing/growl while drumming..and he's supposedly one of the fastest and grooviest drummers around today. His style is more thrashy as compared to George. He's played for Absu and Melechesh primarily.
 Am a big fan of ex Abigail Williams drummer, Sam 'Samus' Paulicelli
Check out some of his deadly stick 'n leg work with his current band Decrepit Birth
