Seems to be very similiar to the Oppo 105. In fact the spec sheet says that the USB drivers can be downloaded from the Oppo site. So is it the same company?

No , not the same company . Metronome is a French high-end marquee , so even though the design is based on a modified Oppo drive , it's video processing capabilities,the DAC stage & power supplies should be in an entirely different class . A bit like a swiss knife, seems to do it all . Maybe not one for the purist, but maybe the ticket if one is searching for performance and convenience in one packet .
