Mid-year audiophile meet in Pune

Joining in pretty late on this..

I have no exp as an audiophile, no gadgets to talk about and no past exp to discuss, but I can surely be there and do whatever is necessary to get things going..

can order drinks/ run errands / listen to the gizmo talk and learn and finally am sure will have a blast and make some good friends....

Even i am late to the discussion but if the date does get settled on 2nd June, i might be able to join in as well. If thats alright?

I might be traveling to Pune on that weekend, Its not confirmed yet.
I have never attended a HFV meet, so kinda keen to attend, listen and learn.

I wish i could bring them along. But they are heavy and bringing along gear from Jaipur all the way would not be possible.

But i do hope we get to listen to some active speakers.
I am sure Denom sir's Genelec setup is way better than mine.

But, I shall try to confirm my attendance of the meet soon. As soon as i can get my plans sorted.

Arrgh, my bad. Did not see your location. I thought you were in Pune. Let me see what actives I can arrange. The Geneleccs are kings their own right and deserve a good listen. Lets hope denom can lug the big boys along this far.

1st & foremost let the meet take place. Dates are big issue, looks like 2nd also now not looking comfy for me.

As for actives, they deserve a dedicated meet for them. As it is this meet is not shaping up well with 2 channel or HT pref at the moment.

At the most we will have a small get together amongst ourselves minus the 'meet' crowd if you get my drift......

Just to remind - there are two sheets in the spreadsheet. Kindly use second sheet to indicate what gear you plan to bring.

To answer just4kix's question Yes, I didn't add 30th June because it looked too far to plan.

Let's wait for a few more folks to indicate dates. Guys, do indicate your preference in the spreadsheet also in addition to posting in this thread.

I am happy to see increasing interest in this meet.

We have been consistently conducting audiophile meets at Pune. We have also had audience who aren't members of HFV or aren't active members. How about reaching out to audience out of HFV on a broader scale - press, web?

I had discussed about the meet with Jay from Soundnvision casually on mail and he too is keen to attend the meet. He might be interested in showcasing some of the products through AVX . Someone knowing him personally can speak to him.

Event Schedule:
Date: 2nd June
Time: 10:30am - 6:00pm.
Address: to be posted.

10:30am to 1:30pm - Evaluate a few stereo systems.
1:30pm to 2:30pm - Lunch.
2:30pm to 6:00pm - Evaluate a few home theater systems.
After 6:00pm - Those who chose to stay can enjoy more equipment.

Cost: No cover charges. Lunch cost to be borne by members at actuals.

Equipment: Members will volunteer to bring their own equipment.

Dealers may also showcase equipment with an advance notice. The equipment has to be good enough that members will be delighted to audition it.

Who can attend: Those who are interested in home audio. HFV members and others as well are welcome.
