I have Cooler Master Elite 100 miniITX cabinet which I was using with my old HTPC. Recently the PSU conked off and my brother bought a new cabinet, so this cabinet is now left unused. If anyone is interested let me know. This cabinet has sturdy build, can support miniITX and microATX boards, has one slim optical drive slot. No option for add-on cards and will need to replace the psu.

The slim PSU goes inside ,
the mini 230vto 12v unit will be outside

so 230V ===>12vPsu====>chinaPicoPSU===>mobo
Thicker gauge may cost 2-3k extra and importing will be useless we get 5000Rs many options here i suppose.

I think most ITX mobo is solid heatsink cooled so resonance on its own will be zero in audio range.

a black painted woodpiece at the bottom canbe added to make the unit feel heavy!

MiniITX cases are used for smaller PCs. You will need a miniITX motherboard and a smaller power supply also.

As you plan to setup a HT playback system with HTPC
some hurdles you will face
*small cabinets that jive with the Living room are unavailable or expensive in india ( you dont want to settle for say cab like iball baby)
*bulk pc with rattling fan noise is also not suitable
so you have to go for soldstate PSU which is fanless
hence zero noise.They also are unavailable in india

so one way is to get mini ITx pc DIY and load XBMC like system.

many mini itxs come with built in NVIDIA GPU that does pretty good 1080p.
saving you from buying extra GFx card .Such motherboards cost 2.5-4k add import tax and shipping.

This means total cost would be 27+14 USD ~ INR 2200

And I guess in around INR 2700 you might get a branded (Elite 120) mini ITX case in India.

Also a bit thicker by in and around 2K we also get zebronics mini-itx series

Sometimes back on ebay.in thinpc company used to seel mini itx cases for as low as 1400 INR now they are no longer appearing for standalone case. May be people can order directly from thinpc.com website
