Missing Channels in Sun Direct HD

Hi.

I have Sun Direct HD which I bought in April 2010 for 10k and it had almost all hindi channels.

Few months ago I got SMSs for setting change and I did that and I could see a green tick mark that it has been done successfully.

Now for last couple of months. I am not getting many channels. I am getting their 3 HD Channels but I am not getting any Hindi entertainment channels like Star Plus, Sony, Zee, Error 19-4 ( I am getting only Colors from that segment.)

I called up customer care many times but they say that they will send some1 for alignment. But nobody turns up.

Now, on the forum, someone says that dish has to be realigned, someone else says that there is no need for Sun HD as it has big dish that already has access to measat3 for their HD channels, only settings have to be changed. But I could not get those settings.

Can someone PLEASE tell me the settings for my Samsung DSB-5090R STB. Or, suggest me what should I do if it is not related to settings.

This seems to be more than a problem of settings. Either way, I think you need to have a Sun Direct technician visit. All I can suggest is that you email your complaint to Sun Direct and also repeatedly register your complaint with customer service until they send someone. Unfortuantely the attitude of Sun Direct the last 4-5 months has been as if they have totally given up and no longer care about their business. Even their facebook page has been totally abondoned. Bottom line for those considering on subscrbing to Sun Direct is, DON'T.

I suggest that you try and contact the local Sun Direct dealer and get him to send a technician.

BTW, Sun HD CC numbers do not work. I tried few mobile numbers also which I got from the Sun Direct people at the time of installation but all of the are "temporarily out of service".

It was a bad decision to got for Sun Direct HD that too for 10k. :(
 
I have posted on Saveondish and done all that suggested by experienced members.

I have also reset my STB (through the menu) but the problem is still there. :(
 
since yesterday I am getting only the info channel.. is there any satellite issue.. I have filed a complaint with CC but nobody showed up yet..
 
After many calls and requests on their website contact page, finally got email from "Nodal Officer Delhi NCR". Asking few more details, promptly replied his every email. Then he sent someone, who fixed it (by calling at back-end).

God knows, if it was the problem from back-end, why did they not fix it after my well explained problem in each of my mails. Why they needed their own engineer to come to my place and call them to fix the problem. :annoyed:

Now again, since more SD channels have been added, I am NOT getting anything other than free to air channels. :sad:

Have tried scanning many times for new channels but no success.

Glad you finally got the issue resolved. Sorry to hear abotu the new 'only free to air channels' issue. I suppose with Sun Direct one ought to expect some issue or the other to always be there.

By the way, did you notcie the latest that Sun Direct has come up with to abuse consumer rights? I am referring to the additional watermark stating 'SUN DIRECT HD' on all HD channels, including Discovery HD and National Geographic HD and that to right smack in the middle of the screen towards the left side.
 
I am not getting channels to notice their logo. :mad:

Decided to put it in "For Sale" thread at throwaway prices after the problem is solved. I cannot handle this torture anymore.

In the meantime, searching one more Tata Sky HD Box. I have one already but that I have kept in my bed room.

Edit:

Now, all channels (except HD Channels) are coming. NGC, discovery and 3 new HD channels showing Error-48-32 (No Signal - Check Cable).

I was not getting HD channels.

Moved the dish by 2-3mm and I am getting all the channels now (SD and HD). :)
