Today I actually scrolled down beyond their latest recommended products in each category.
Surprise, each page has very well written "what" "why" "how" to choose components.

Read at your leisure, I found it very useful and coherent/succinct (unlike my rants )

Have read the detailed write up on the site suggested by you. Really very good for the beginners and for the not so tech savvy folks(like myself).
