Any reason you want to add 2 speakers per surround channel?

Most of the av receivers are not 3 ohms stable (parrelleing ruled out). At 12 ohm load (series), the output power of receiver will be damn low, end up having lower output than a single 6 ohm speaker as load. Not a great idea at all.

Don't even try it, unless you want to see white smoke from your receiver. Please Google for affect on impedance and power requirements when speakers connected and parallel and in series.

Avoid connecting more than a single speaker per channel.

@Jeemon its bad idea mate, you dont do that. you may try something with delhi made universal amps and speakers, lol . but not with these once.
It will burn, your amp and your as* aswell.

If you want to make another channel of atmos, just get any decent amp, may be a budget amp of 35 to 45 watts, or get 2nd hand from olx, from someone.
Take preout from your atmos channel and give it to external amp. that i think will solve issue of getting duplicate channel. And its safe way. Then you match the volume level of your speakers to that amp, and run your room calibration.

My 2 cents.....

It is not such a doomsday scenario if one connects say 2 speakers in series. I have used 2 stand mounts connected in series for the centre channel to good effect and with no harm to the receiver.

Connecting them in parallel is not a good idea because the amp sees a halved load and may not be able to handle it.

Cheers

Hello you cant get it work like that, if you split hdmi, your TX313 will still give out only 5.1.
In your 656, can you assign Zone 2 as new channel? is there option to assign channel? Please go through your manual. I have receiver in which i can assign the Back surround as either zone 2 or as back channel. so check if you have certain possibility. If not then i dont see other options that could work properly.
good luck!
