A lot of this is due to lack of reading and proper education about certain things. Especially lessons learned from the past. A question I ask many people who seemingly support wrong things is this. Can you give me a definition of Fascism, Racism, Discrimination etc ? Surprisingly many seemingly well educated people cannot define this well. Such people form the majority of the population. They are at the mercy of crafty powers that will manipulate and use them for their benefit.
Considering the amount of investment that has gone into AI, I am not sure there are enough Ideas on its usage which will give a return on its investment.
Maybe the AI bubble and meltdown will bring some sanity. I have tried using it in my consulting and it sucks big time for enterprises.
Maybe for smaller setups for short term it might give solutions or make cat videos to make people happy.
About improving peoples lfe etc etc..thats justa dream . No one cares, notr the rich no the poor, not the powerful, and the confused middle class definitely not.
One theory is that if the rich make more money and invest it in business then there are more jobs and perhaps a better chance to remove poverty.
Another one the "Nice" govt will do that selflessly by taxing the rich for the poor and the rich will still continue to invest out of the good ness of their heart

Yup I know there are. I was building a business case for a client .
The ROI is still not there especially with the computing cost involved
