Record quality matters. And even iTunes doesn't care much on this.

I don't understand this. It is not about volume: the end listener controls that with ...the volume knob. It is about compression destroying dynamic range. And if these people have realised that there is something wrong with that, then why bother with any other version?

There should not be an "audiophile" mix. There should be a normal mix. And, if there is any other, it could be called something like the mix for people who don't want detail because they simply can't hear it any longer. That's not very catchy, so how about the half-deaf mix.

Normal and Half-Deaf. They might be surprised how many people end up really preferring the "normal"
