Dear Members

Posting in this forum after a very long time. I'm in the midst of constructing a dedicated AV room. Prior to this I had a modest audio only setup comprising of Emotiva USP1 + UPA2 + KEF Q900 + Mac Mini based Digital Transport/DAC

My planned purchases/planned setup is as follows.

1. 4K Projector
2. 4 Atmos Speakers (2 Ceiling, 2 rear)
3. 1 centre channel speaker
4. 1 subwoofer
5. AVR - Marantz Cinema 70S (largely in preout mode with the Atmos ceiling speakers being driven by internal amplification)
6. Power Amp - XPA-5 (for driving LRC and the two rear speakers - getting it pre-owned at a good deal.
7. LR Speakers - Q900 (same as the audio chain)
8. Source - Digital transport (same as the audio chain).

Whilst I'm very keen to retain as much of the pure audio chain and existing equipment as possible, I wanted to seek the opinion of the esteemed forum members on the best way to seamlessly integrate the video component.

Since you want to have a pure stereo experience too along with HT, then look out for a stereo amp which has the "HT bypass" feature . You may not need a power amp in this case for the fronts since the stereo amp will act as a power amp for the left and right channel in HT mode and the sub will handle the low frequencies. The avr may be able to handle the center and surrounds assuming it is a 5.1.4 setup.
