Its not like there are too many options here but still its a start. Sorry for the OT.

Well, what I am planning to buy is strikingly similar to that of content of this thread. (That is why I stick around.)

I need an A/V Receiver and a 5.1 speaker system for music and movies. My budget is around 30k. Even with that budget I dared to think about floor-standing L&R.

I searched a bit and almost convinced this is not going to work. Then I saw this thread and, as you can imagine, overjoyed.

The words of 'jaudere' were very consoling and reaffirming though it may appear that I took it the other way round.

I am not confident that I could come to a right judgment if I go for an audition. That is why I requested some expert judgment on the products of P Yee Audio.

Could I expect some more direction on this matter?

If its sometime in Dec, I can accompany you to Peeyees. Also you can come and listen to my Onkyo 506+ mission 5 speaker combo(no sub,sorry!) if you want.But I will not be free in Nov.

hello,

friend, i hope you are going to buy audio equipment to satisfy yourself rather than a group of people. so listen to the set up and get it if you like it. Brand names mean nothing. branded equipment will always have great looks but the same cannot be said about the audio quality. a costly (costing few lacs of rupees) may fail to satisfy a person where a speaker worth Rs 10000 may do the trick. but yes! do audition as many speakers as you can before you settle on a product.

Sorry to be soooo late. Exactly two months........ I was preoccupied by some problems and hardly had any time to think about my audio system.

The system is working fine and am enjoying very much.

In between, i got chance to buy a DTS audio cd (Tamil film Boys). The sound quality and spacialisation was superb.

Also try 5.1 dts audio cds Ghajini, vettaiyaadu vilaiyaadu, manmadan, Anniyan, Sillunu oru kadhal, God Father, Chandramukhi and some yash raj film releases like dhoom-2.

I had auditioned their amp at new edappally show room, although they are musically good at low volumes, sub woofers are highly distorting in 70% volume levels, it does not have any digital inputs also, it is not a value for money thing as we will get HARMON KARDON & YAMAHA packages below 30k with full latest features.
One of my friend told that all his speakers connectors and volume control knobs BROKEN within one year.
FOR THOSE WHO LOVE SMOOTH LOW SOUND MUSIC PYEE IS GOOD.

Dear friend ,please audition any other ht set ups b4 auditioning pyee audio amplifiers and speakers. its treble end is over boosted and subwoofer are distorted if we increase volume above 70%. we cannot listen it to more than 30 min. and even amplifiers and speakers are 80 models look .hyeah: sanoj
