My review of the Lab12 DAC1 Reference

Sharing personal experiences in a much misunderstood area ...this audio appreciation hobby...audiofilia...can spread discontent with those who have money and tend to take too seriously what is a essentially personal experience in the confines of one's own room and music preferences.

It's hard to get an appreciative audience who understands that music is meant to be enjoyed and not meant as a hardware collection / display hobby.

Nice review once again

Would like to listen to your setup to experience the flavour someday but I guess Bengaluru is not on my travel agenda these days (assuming you are ok with my request )
Thanks.
If you are visiting do let me know.

To anyone who insists that streaming music playback quality can not compare with a well set up Turntable or such, I say “balderdash! Try this before you repeat and perpetuate this myth”
This was going sweetly till this uncalled for jab.
Have you invested in a similar level turntable , phono pre setup , alongwith (more importantly) LPs coming out of the classic era (seventies and eighties ) from Britain , Germany , Japan and US , plus prestige reissues from the likes of AP , MFSL , Classic Records , I’m curious …

No matter what one has, amp must be switched on as last unit and switched off as first unit to avoid these pulses going into the speakers.
I noticed just now that the Lab12 manual advises the opposite sequence.

No.

The owner’s manual for the Lab12 DAC1 states:

For Safety of the DAC:

Please keep in mind that you have to turn on dac1 reference some seconds before turning on your amplifier and turn it off some seconds after turning off your amplifier.

Anyone knows why? Please advise
some manufacturers despite all their know how has not figured out how to avoid loud pops when turning on and turning off their devices. This could fry the tweeters sometimes. So this warning. :) This may not occur every time, but at times without any warning. Atleast there is this warning which js good.
