Many years back, there was a Hifivision forum members meet. I remember one FM ( don't remember his handle name) mentioning that there's a person who services Nakamichi decks. If anyone knows about such a person, please let me know. I have just ordered for my second Nakamichi 1000 tri tracer. I love the one I am using and thought a second one will be as good as the one I am using. Thanks in advance

Umesh Chandran. He was on the forum as NakTech.
I don't have his personal contact details though.

Umesh is very good at servicing nak. I have his contact number if needed send me a PM. He had serviced nak 480 and subsequently have given 2 decks 680zx and 660 for service to him. It has been more than 2 years and no proper response from him. All my calls / message goes unanswered except once in a while msg indicating busy. Last I heard is he is moving to Hyderabad but not sure what is the current status.

I had spoke to him (Mr Umesh Chandran) a bit ago in 2018. He said that he had more than enough nak decks to service that he would be busy for more than two years. As such he was not accepting any new assignments. There is one Mr Murthy who also services cassette decks. I had sought his opinion on a couple of ocassions, but I am not sure of his location. If you need, i will share his contact details by pm.

Thank you for your kind offer. Please let me know if you can get Mr.Murthy's number. I may not send it all the way to Chennai but atleast I may be able to ask his opinion

i also am looking for one tech for my dads 680zxl needs serious servicing. its at mumbai but can ship to anywhere if anyone can help with a good tech

Hi - is there someone who can repair Nakamichi decks in Bangalore? I purchased a Nakamichi dr10 which requires new belts and the play, stop & FF buttons are broken. The deck is being couriered to me and I should have it next week. I'm looking for someone who can change the belts, do a full service including demagnetization for me in Bangalore. Also looking to find a 3 d printer who can print the buttons for me.

Did you find anyone to 3D print the buttons? Can you share some information? I heard there is an old gentleman in Bengaluru
But did not get his contact details.

Hi, I haven't looked for anyone yet. the Deck you still lying around since the time I bought it I haven't really started the Restoration part but somebody told me that CNC machining the buttons might be a better idea than 3D printing them
