I am planning to move my HT setup to a dedicated room. Want to add projector and screen.

I have demoed benq w4000i which is led projector and for now I am considering this. Many of the vendors are pushing for optima uhz50+ laser projector. But I found benq led projector little more brighter and with good contrast.

After looking at benq website there a new model w2720i which is also a led project but with new features. Need suggestions from members if anyone has demoed the new model or there is any alternate choice that I can consider.

My room size is 22 x 13 x 9.5ft and viewing distance is around 13ft.

If you are a gamer, W2720i is the best fit as it comes with HDMI 2.1.

If you are a fan of 3D movies, go for W4000i as it comes with more ANSI lumens(3200 > 2500).

You can book a Demo for new model on Benq website.

If you are open to preowned, then there is a BenQ projector with a 120 inch screen in the classifieds section link below
.

Thanks, I already have gaming setup so my sole purpose for projector is for watching movies. I think I will go with w4000i. Thanks for the details.

Thanks for the details. I did check with the vendor the w4000i is discontinued and he has last piece which he is quoting 3L. Also checked the pricing for w2720i which is latest model from benq as you already mentioned. The dealer is quoting 2.4L (nego).

I think with costing and latest tech w2720i would be better. But the only problem is I haven't demos the w2720i. I am going based on the reviews only. There is also upgraded model for w4000i which is w4100i but still its not available in india. Not sure about its costing too. If anyone has any idea do let me know.

I'm surprised no one is suggesting epson 9400 which costs around 2.05 l
Mrp 2.77
It's an excellent projector

While traditional brands like BenQ (W4000i) or Optoma UHZ50+ are solid, especially for purists, the formovie X5 offers better real-world brightness, fantastic color reproduction, and good contrast, especially in a well-treated room. Plus, longer lifespan (laser light source) and built-in smart features make it a compelling all-in-one package.

Of course, if you’re chasing reference-level black levels and high-end tone mapping (like JVC D-ILA or Epson LS12000), those are in a different league (and price range). But for under ₹2L, the Formovie X5 offers incredible value and punchy image quality that rivals or beats many mid-range traditional projectors.

The only real trade-off is after-sales service and warranty, which can be a bit of a grey area in India — but if you’re okay with that risk, you’re saving lakhs of rupees while still getting top-tier performance.

That said, I’d love to hear if anyone here has demoed the BenQ W2720i — looks interesting, but it might be more of a crossover product than a dedicated HT beast.

Optoma is very good, even Benq too. I bet you park money on Benq only, you will get better service in India. Take a good screen which is equally important and good calibration is more important on a projector. If you want better blacks at that price around 2L go for epson tw 9400 which gives better accurate colours than Benq because of 3lcd system and with no RAINBOW EFFECT of Benq weak point, which is a big stress point for me everytime

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
