I am planning to move my HT setup to a dedicated room. Want to add projector and screen.

I have demoed benq w4000i which is led projector and for now I am considering this. Many of the vendors are pushing for optima uhz50+ laser projector. But I found benq led projector little more brighter and with good contrast.

After looking at benq website there a new model w2720i which is also a led project but with new features. Need suggestions from members if anyone has demoed the new model or there is any alternate choice that I can consider.

My room size is 22 x 13 x 9.5ft and viewing distance is around 13ft.

If you are a gamer, W2720i is the best fit as it comes with HDMI 2.1.

If you are a fan of 3D movies, go for W4000i as it comes with more ANSI lumens(3200 > 2500).

You can book a Demo for new model on Benq website.

If you are open to preowned, then there is a BenQ projector with a 120 inch screen in the classifieds section link below

Thanks, I already have gaming setup so my sole purpose for projector is for watching movies. I think I will go with w4000i. Thanks for the details.

Both the BenQ W4000i and Optoma UHZ50+ are great choices. The BenQ W4000i offers better brightness and contrast, which you’ve already noticed in your demo. If you prefer vibrant colors and deep blacks, it could be a great fit for your room. The Optoma UHZ50+ is a laser projector, providing more consistent brightness over time, but the BenQ's LED tech might give you the edge in terms of overall image quality for your setup. The new BenQ W2720i offers additional features, so if you’re after the latest tech, it’s worth checking out. Given your room size and viewing distance, any of these would work well, but if brightness and contrast are top priorities, the W4000i remains a solid choice.

Thanks for the details. I did check with the vendor the w4000i is discontinued and he has last piece which he is quoting 3L. Also checked the pricing for w2720i which is latest model from benq as you already mentioned. The dealer is quoting 2.4L (nego).

I think with costing and latest tech w2720i would be better. But the only problem is I haven't demos the w2720i. I am going based on the reviews only. There is also upgraded model for w4000i which is w4100i but still its not available in india. Not sure about its costing too. If anyone has any idea do let me know.

I'm surprised no one is suggesting epson 9400 which costs around 2.05 l
Mrp 2.77
It's an excellent projector
9400 has become outdated now, since it only has 2 times pixel shift (less sharper than benq's 4 time pixel shifting). also no laser and low color coverage without filter. newer Benq models like w2720i has better ansi contrast with dynamic tonemapping support and better color coverage. also laser dimming helps with dynamic contrast. Epson 9400 is long due for an update.
