Also, can i audition the system in mumbai?

AVR for 50k: Marantz 6004 or Denon 2310 or Yamaha 1065

Speakers for 100k: PSB Image (at Lakozy) or Quad L2 (at Designer Audio) or Monitor Audio RS (at Boomarang) or Mordaunt Short Mezzo (at The Shop) or KEF iQ (at ProFX) series. You can make 5.1 from any of the above series.

You can consider Axiom's EPIC-175, they are renowned for their efficiency, clarity and also immersive surround experience.

You can also order the individual items at their Outlet, for a 10% + 5% discount, but may need to wait ~4weeks for the items to be shipped.

The only catch is that you will not be able to audition them, unless you know somebody in your city who has these speakers.

thanks raghav and skumar..
still have to 2-3days to decide.
plz suggest the best speakers amongst those.
also do u know anybody u sells original grey market stuff(of u r aquaintance) in mumbai

Hi,

Besides your budget , pl also mention what is the room size as a suitable amp and speakers could then be suggested.

You could also look at a combination of Denon 1910 plus Dali Ikon 6 speakers set up , as per my estimate this combination would cost you approx Rs 2.3 lakhs, and in case you are too strict about budget , then go for Denon 1910 plus two front and centre speakers of Dali Ikon 6 and Polk sub woofer , and for surround also you could try Polk speakers , the model numbers I am holding on to read about yr room size , but just too get an idea your self , you could get the initial idea on their web site or Profx guys.

Do you plan to have a Blue ray player or would settle down with DVD player , for then one can really look at 5.1 or 7.1 system,

cheers,

any more info , pl do let us know.

Umesh
cheers!!

also i am not much of audiophile,so dont want to invest very high for small differences.

how is the following combo?

Kef KHT5005.2
and a/v receiver denon 1910/Pioneer VSX-1019AH.

plz suggest me if i need to make any changes.
only 3 days left before i buy the system.

read all reviews..
dont think they are that powerful as compared to the price.
instead will go for kef iq.
plz suggest me kef speakers (2 front+1 centre+2rear+1 subwoofer) for price range of 1.2lakh.i can increase on budget upto 40k
also i ready to look at other options.
plz help

Check out the BR5 package from Monitor audio as well as the Diamond 9.6 package from wharfedale.

However, if your budget permits, the best option out there would be the Dali Ikon 6 HT. If you have the space, its hard to beat this one.

Happy auditions.

The AVR options are between the Yamaha/Denon at your budget you could look at the 765 or the 1910/2310. Have a look at the specs and decide your choice. For upscaling, Denon is a clear winner. For connectivity options and sound fields Yamaha may be a better choice. But check what makes more sense to you.

The speaker options for 5.1 are huge in the 1 lakh range. As most suggested, you can check the Monitor, PSB, Q acoustic, MS etc. For slightly higher budgets, Usher, Dali's would come.

The other thing to consider how keen are you on low frequency effects so you could look at a specialist subwoofer irrespective of the speakers that you choose. Some of the good ones are HSU and Velodyne.

It would be best for you to audition to check whether you make out the differences between the 1 lakh speaker range and the higher ones.

i am not much of a audiophile.
i need good lows and also speakers should be powerful and should produce crisp sound.

hi
check out the deftinitive technology pro cinema 1000. very good for movies and also good for music.
cheers

gonna postpon it for a month cos my exams are very near.
gonna audition it in dec and then only decide which one to buy.

Buddy

Kindly Audition the following setups :

Q Acoustics

2050i + 2020i + 2000c + 2070s + Denon - 1910 + Cables QED + HDMI Cable - Alphason (Same Group of QED) + QED Optical Cable + Pioneer - DV-610, or if you increase a bit of your budget than Pioneer - BluRay Player worth Rs.45,999(excellent one) or Panasonic BMP55 (Rs.25K) = Rs.1,43,000 + Player...

Paradigm

Studio-100 + 2010i + 2000c + 2070s + Denon-1910 + Cables QED + HDMI Cable - Alphason (Same Group of QED) + QED Optical Cable = Rs.2L + Player...

You can audition them in Mumbai... Please let us know, when your exams get over, so that we can help you with more details.

Anyways, for that time...

Best of Luck for your exams...
