Network enabled AVR with Audyssey MultiEq XT and 5.1 speaker package

I'd recommend the Marantz 5006 with a pair of Tannoys (Revolution DC6).

Flash, I did hear the JBL LS80 with a pair of Harman amps pushing them and they failed to impress.

Navin, The JBL LS80's are at 2,00,00 a pair and at that price there are a lot of other loudspeakers that can cream them
However the OP has a budget of 1.5 lakh entire setup .
My suggestion on the JBL is based on pure price point. I am sure we cant compare a 35k speaker to a 2 hundred k speaker.

Yes 35k does buy a lot of other low end floorstanders as well however the JBL's were purely a suggestion . .

Cheers

Hi,

I think you can consider def tech pro cinema 600 / 800 system as well for speakers. Its a 5.1 system but an additional pair of satellites can be arranged by the dealer i guess. I think it will be suitable for any of the amps you are looking at (Denon 1912 / 2312)

Apart from other dealers mentioned above, Tulsi electronics have recently opened a store in Aundh, opposite to D-mart by name of The Soundscape (if that is convenient to you) and I think they stock def tech, though not sure about the audition.

Thanks & Regards,

Amit

thanks thats a very valueable info, the tough thing in pune I find is lack of good shops of AV gears compared to mumbai or delhi

wanted to suggest my frend the deftech procinema 800, the 600 I have my self and I like their sound a lot so as him

his room is a bit bigger than mine around 250 sq feets, I was wondering if he would really need to spend that extra bucks for 800, will the 600 be sufficient enough for 250 sq feet room ? (when I bought my 600 the show guy told me its good enough for 300 sq feet room)

and if the room size remains the same which is say close to 200 sq feet then will 800 be really better than 600 ?

anyone has both can you pls share ur though ...

guys leaning towards the procinema 800 + denon 1912 setup

one clarification though, it seems the US version of 1912 has only MultEQ version of audyssey while UK and india version has "MultEq XT" which is the upgraded version of audyssey, can anyone from india who bought this set in india pls confirm if ur 1912 does have "MultEq XT" and not just "MultEq"

The Denon 1912 does have "MultEq XT". I am using the same, It is also printed on the box. I would advise you to go in for a detailed demo to check out all the features.

Onkyo 809 is having all the features you are looking for as I got one from USA two days before. My first AVR and it sounds thunderous for music as well as movies.

yeah I know its tough to decide between onkyo 809 and denon 1912 feature wise 809 beats 1912 hands down

the price difference is huge for these 2 specially in india though

Nothing.. just a point to unerline that onkyos are usually feature packed but they just cant do music

I havent owned any onkyo system but after doing a lot of reading it seems they try to be jack of all trade but masters of none :)

denon seems to be the choice of majority ones and most importantly not many complainyts reported for denon where as onkyo has a lot of issues reportef even their 809, you can find many issues reported in avsforum

for my personal use I am going to stick with denon and of course will recommemd to my friend the same :)

for now denon 1912 seems better option

ok guys denon 1912 and deftech 800 is the final

deal 1912 - 40k
deftech 800 - 65k

is it a good deal ?

edit: also to add the audition experience with 800, compared with 600 the music experience specifically was outstanding like playing on a powerfull bookshelf, and yeah the center channel sounded twice as powerfull as 600, overall a very good package both for music and movies, cant ask more with package of that size :)
